Biggie
Biggie Smalls
"Biggie" aka Biggie Smalls aka Notorious B.I.G aka Christopher Wallace
Original mixed media painting.
16" x 36" on canvas
1 of 8 in series of artists/musicians whose work impacted the world greatly, and who died tragically before their time.
This painting is featured in "2pac VS Biggie, an Illustrated History of Rap's Greatest Battle" 2013. Voyageur Press. The book is available on Amazon. It's good to have the painting AND the book. Then when people come over, you can show them your original "Biggie" painting was featured in the book. You get a good 10-20 rockstar points for that.

Kurt Cobain
Kurt Cobain
"Kurt Cobain"
Original Painting Is Available
$10,000
16" x 36" mixed media on canvas. Cobain quote says "I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I am not."
Kurt Cobain, one of 8 in my series of paintings of artists/musicians who died before their time. Each painting in this series is of an artist whose life and work affected me in some way, inspired millions, and whose early, unexpected and tragic death sent a ripple of shock through the world. This is definitely one of my favorites of the series, as there was a moment in my life when the only relief I experienced was Nirvana in my headphones.
April 5th, 2019 marked the 25th anniversary of this tragic loss. So what I can do, as an artist, is just express my love for this artist in the only way I know how...with my art. And to share it with the world. I've made various sizes of prints available below, so I could make this piece more affordable. There will never be another you, Kurt. You are missed. XO, dreXeL

John Lennon
John Lennon
"John Lennon"
One of 8 in my new series of paintings of artists/musicians who died before their time. There's something so tragic and pointless, not to mention mysterious, about the point-blank execution-style murder of a musician that everyone loved, who was kind and inspiring, and whose words and music soothed millions for so many years. It's just weird. If you're in NYC, make sure to stop by Strawberry Fields and pay your respects. Feel free to bring candles, flowers, whatever.

Jimi Hendrix
Jimi Hendrix
"Jimi"
16" x 36" Mixed media on canvas
One of a series of 8 artists/musicians whose life and work affected mine in some way, and who died tragically before his/her time. I have loved Jimi Hendrix since I was a little kid. He was really in a class by himself when it came to guitar style. It came so naturally to him from such an early age, not to mention that there were very few African Americans in Rock & Roll at that time. He was special in many ways and for many reasons. To this day no one sounds like him, although many are, and will always be, inspired BY his music. So here is my homage.
